It is true. One role can make an actor's career and be their trampoline to fame. Yet, no one knows how the movie will be greeted by the audiences until the premiere. These actors had doubts about the roles they were offered. Yet, the movies became legendary! Sean Connery as Gandalf
Sean Connery cost himself about £283million when he turned down the role of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The former James Bond actor was offered £19m to play in the movie directed by Peter Jackson and Warner Bros also offered him 15% of the franchise's box office takings. Yep, 15%! Connery allegedly turned down the role because of his concerns over the script. The role went to Sir Ian McKellen.
Cary Grant as 007
